OLW With Ali Edwards – January

I have been participating in OLW for several years now and I have yet to finish a year. But this year… I plan to see it through to the end. One Little Word is choosing a word to focus on over the course the 12 months from January through December. My previous words have been relinquish, better, seek and thoughtful. For 2019 my OLW is ‘perseverance’.

I’ve chosen this word for many reasons… but mostly because 2018 was very challenging for our family. We suffered loss, financial strains, and family perils… but we persevered through it all, but not always in a manner that I was proud of. This year I want to practice persevering in a continued state of grace.

In Ali’s January message… one question she asked was, what do you want to let go of? That question really made me think.
Another question that Ali asked was… what does success with your word look like to you? I have never thought of my word in this manner and I loved researching and getting curious with this question.
Several years ago I made a subway art poster with my word and enjoyed the process so much that I decided to do it again.

I’m excited to see where my OLW will take me this year.

Do you have a OLW? If so, hope you will share it with me.

A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.
